ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,285,662, issued on April 29, was assigned to Karsten Manufacturing Corp. (Phoenix).

"Multi-component putter" was invented by David A. Higdon (Cave Creek, Ariz.) and Jacob T. Clarke (Apex, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An embodiment of a putter type golf club head with an upper and lower portion, made from two different materials, is enclosed herein. Other embodiments are described herein."

The patent was filed on Aug. 4, 2021, under Application No. 17/444,468.
