ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,489,391, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to KAROGEN LLC (Delray Beach, Fla.).
"Photovoltaic screen system" was invented by Kathy E. Goodman (Delray Beach, Fla.) and Robert Sunstone (North Palm Beach, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A photovoltaic screen system is an integrated structure disposed over an opening in a wall of a building. The integrated structure includes at least one screen permeable to light and air and operable to extend at least partially over the opening. Photovoltaic (PV) elements are coupled to portions of the screen(s)."
The patent was filed on Sept. 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/829,421.
