ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,544,243, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to KARDIOZIS SAS (Aix-en-Provence, France).

"Endoprosthesis and a method of producing an endoprosthesis" was invented by Nathalie Vandaele-Fenouil (Aix-en-Provence, France) and Barry Nugent (County Galway, Ireland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An endoprosthesis having a body part, a first cover sheet, and a thrombogenic fiber. The fibers are attached to the endoprosthesis by a fixation layer and partially arranged between the first cover sheet and the fixation layer."

The patent was filed on Sept. 8, 2020, under Application No. 17/761,751.
