ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,421,563, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Kao Corp. (Tokyo).
"Leather improving agent" was invented by Takahiro Hioki (Wakayama, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are a leather improving agent which exhibits the effect of suppressing contraction of hide to enlarge the area; and a method for treating leather using the leather improving agent. The leather improving agent comprises an M23A subfamily protease as an active ingredient."
The patent was filed on Oct. 29, 2020, under Application No. 17/768,311.
