ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,448,532, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Kao Corp. (Tokyo).
"Inkjet inks" was invented by Yuta Matsumoto (Cincinnati) and Todd Tritcak (Cincinnati).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An inkjet ink that includes (A) a terpene resin made from Alpha-pinene and (B) methyl ethyl ketone, which is characterized by extended decap times as well as quick drying properties when applied onto a substrate. A printed article including the inkjet ink in dried form, and a method of forming a printed image with a thermal inkjet printhead are also provided."
The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2019, under Application No. 17/787,486.
