ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,287, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Kao Corp. (Tokyo).
"Norovirus-binding peptide" was invented by Yoshitaka Ito (Sakura, Japan), Takuya Morimoto (Tokyo), Shigefumi Kumachi (Saitama, Japan) and Naoto Nemoto (Saitama, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A peptide that specifically binds to norovirus, which is useful for detection and infection control of norovirus is provided. A norovirus-binding peptide consisting of an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 327."
The patent was filed on May 28, 2020, under Application No. 17/613,331.
