ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,384, issued on April 29, was assigned to KAO Corp. (Tokyo).

"Plant growth promoter" was invented by Akihiro Tanoue (Wakayama, Japan) and Yuji Maruno (Wakayama, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is a plant growth promoter containing a lignocellulosic biomass, wherein the lignocellulosic biomass has a lignin content of 40% by mass or more and 60% by mass or less and a contact angle with water of 50deg or less."

The patent was filed on Nov. 22, 2022, under Application No. 17/991,959.
