ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,421,293, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to JURA BIO INC. (Somerville, Mass.).

"Major histocompatibility complex-based chimeric receptors and uses thereof for treating autoimmune diseases" was invented by Julie Norville (Boston) and Elizabeth Wood (Boston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Major histocompatibility complex-based chimeric receptors (MHC-CAR) for use in targeting autoreactive immune cells. Also provided herewith are genetically engineered immune cells expressing the MHC-CAR for use in treating autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis."
