ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,232,516, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to JP Laboratories Inc. (Middlesex, N.J.).
"Materials and methods for extending shelf-life of foods" was invented by Gordhanbhai N. Patel (Somerset, N.J.) and Julia Koleda Nordenbring (Bloomfield, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A food with an extended shelf-life and a method of extending shelf-life of food is provided herein. The extended shelf-life is provided by treating the food with isothiocyanate, a non-aromatic cyclic ketone, a boronic acid, a ligand their precursors."
The patent was filed on July 25, 2023, under Application No. 18/225,782.
