ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,263,473, issued on April 1, was assigned to Johnson Matthey Davy Technologies Ltd. (London).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a process for the liquid phase activation of catalysts. Such activated catalysts have particular utility in hydrogenation of aldehydes to alcohols.
