ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,453,439, issued on Oct. 28, was assigned to JK eCom GmbH (Schwebheim, Germany).
"Knock box" was invented by Jan Koeniger (Schwebheim, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A knock box for knocking off coffee grounds from a portafilter, the knock box having a base and walls extending away from the base for laterally delimiting the interior space of the knock box. The knock box has an impact surface located in the area of the walls of the knock box."
The patent was filed on Sept. 4, 2019, under Application No. 17/274,822.
