ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,658, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Janssen Biotech Inc. (Horsham, Pa.).
"Anti-CD79 chimeric antigen receptors, CAR-T cells, and uses thereof" was invented by Rajkumar Ganesan (Blue Bell, Pa.), Elena Lasorsa (Antwerp, Belgium) and Ulrike Philippar (Antwerp, Belgium).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides for chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) that specifically target a Cluster of Differentiation 79b protein (CD79b), and immunoresponsive cells comprising such CARs, for the treatment of cancer."
The patent was filed on Nov. 17, 2020, under Application No. 16/950,296.
