ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,540,465, issued on Feb. 3, was assigned to Jackel Inc. (Mishawaka, Ind.).
"Telescopic snap-fit sump basin, and the like" was invented by Craig Nowicki (South Bend, Ind.) and Corey Christian Parsons (Edwardsburg, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sump basin is provided which is formed from telescopically interfit portions which can be snap-fit into an expanded position of increased vertical height by use of one or more ledges formed on circumferential ribs, merely by pulling up on the top segment once the collapsed basin is in place and a sump pump is mounted therein."
