ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,480, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to IVIVA Medical Inc. (Medford, Mass.).
"Apparatus for supplementing function of endocrine glands" was invented by Charles C. Klassen (Jamaica Plain, Mass.), Harald C. Ott (Wenham, Mass.), Maria Jaramillo (Swampscott, Mass.), Robert G. Hesse (Watertown, Mass.) and Daniel Cheng (Somerville, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are apparatus and methods for blood and other biological fluid purification using a membrane with cell containing vascular channel systems and filtration channel systems. Also disclosed are methods of making the apparatus as well as methods of making membranes."
