ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,405,483, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to IonQ Inc. (College Park, Md.).

"Piezo-based beam stabilization for cryogenic environments" was invented by Sarah Margaret Kreikemeier (San Diego) and Kai Makoto Hudek (Hyattsville, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to systems and methods for use in the implementation and/or operation of quantum information processing (QIP) systems, and more particularly, to various aspects of methods and systems for piezoelectric-based (or piezo-based) beam stabilization for cryogenic environments used in QIP systems."
