ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,419,313, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Intralytix Inc. (Columbia, Md.).

"Campylobacter bacteriophages and uses thereof" was invented by Alexander Sulakvelidze (Brookeville, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to isolated bacteriophages having specificity and lytic activity against strains of Campylobacter species, methods of using the bacteriophages, progeny and derivatives derived therefrom, to control the growth of Campylobacter species in various settings (e.g., food safety, sanitation, modulating microbiome, prebiotics, probiotics)."
