ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,300,961, issued on May 13, was assigned to IntraAction Corp. (Bellwood, Ill.).
"Laser metal deposition systems and methods" was invented by Khanh Le (Bellwood, Ill.), John Lekavich (Bellwood, Ill.) and Bao Tran (Saratoga, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A laser metal deposition system includes a laser source those laser beam is provided to an acousto-optic deflector that includes an optical element having a surface with one or more steps formed thereon; a conductive layer formed on the surface with the steps; one or more crystals secured to each step; and electrodes positioned on each surface of each crystal."
