ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,536, issued on March 18, was assigned to Intervet Inc. (Rahway, N.J.).
"Caninized antibodies" was invented by Mohamad Morsey (Omaha, Neb.), Yuanzheng Zhang (Edison, N.J.) and Ian Tarpey (St. Ives, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention discloses caninized antibodies with specific properties. The present invention also discloses caninized murine antibodies against canine PD-1 that have a high binding affinity for canine PD-1. The invention further discloses the use of the caninized antibodies of the present invention in the treatment of cancer in dogs."
