ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,492, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to INTERRAD Medical Inc. (Plymouth, Minn.).
"Anchoring an intravenous cannula" was invented by Michael S. Rosenberg (Eagan, Minn.) and Mark R. Christianson (Plymouth, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Some embodiments of a medical system include a subcutaneous anchor device that extends outwardly from side wall of an intravenous cannula so as to secure the intravenous cannula in a position relative to a skin penetration point."
The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2019, under Application No. 16/710,332.
