ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,428,609, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (New York).

"Organoleptic compounds" was invented by Penelope Bigelow (Union Beach, N.J.), Clint Wermes (Tinton Falls, N.J.), Robert Belko (Monroe, N.J.), Richard A. Weiss (Livingston, N.J.), Anubhav P. S. Narula (Hazlet, N.J.) and Michael Monteleone (Hazlet, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to novel compounds and their use as fragrance materials."

The patent was filed on Nov. 25, 2020, under Application No. 17/779,580.
