ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,423,234, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to International Business Machines Corp. (Armonk, N.Y.).

"Cache governance in a computing environment with multiple processors" was invented by Guy G. Tracy (Austin, Texas), Jason D. Kohl (Austin, Texas) and Gregory William Alexander (Pflugerville, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A computer-implemented method for cache governance includes receiving, at a local cache of a processor chip, a first fetch request for data for a cache line of the local cache. The method further includes allocating a first cache controller to allow the first fetch request to receive the data and to track reception...
