ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,444,414, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES Corp. (Armonk, N.Y.).

"Dynamic virtual assistant speech modulation" was invented by Shikhar Kwatra (San Jose, Calif.), Komminist Weldemariam (Ottawa), Zachary A. Silverstein (Austin, Texas) and Victor Povar (Vancouver, Canada).
