ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,240,174, issued on March 4, was assigned to International Business Machines Corp. (Armonk, N.Y.).

"Continuous 3D printing" was invented by Mauro Marzorati (Lutz, Fla.), Faith Opiyo (Nieuw Vennep, Netherlands), Jeremy R. Fox (Georgetown, Texas) and Vinod A. Valecha (Pune, India).
