ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,355,509, issued on July 8, was assigned to InterDigital Patent Holdings Inc. (Wilmington, Del.).

"Method for transmission of radio signals between a transmitter device and a wireless transmit-receive unit using a reconfigurable intelligent surface and corresponding device" was invented by Afshin Haghighat (Ile-Bizard, Canada), Mohammad Irfan (Chateauguay, Canada) and Zeeshan Sattar (Montreal).
