ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,306,767, issued on May 20, was assigned to Intel Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Data transfer encryption mechanism" was invented by Marcin Andrzej Chrapek (Zurich) and Reshma Lal (Portland, Ore.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An apparatus comprising translator circuitry to receive a plurality of physical addresses of memory data, determine an offset associated with each of the physical page addresses and apply a tweak seed to each offset to generate a plurality of tweaks."

The patent was filed on Oct. 19, 2022, under Application No. 17/968,989.
