ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,330,057, issued on June 17, was assigned to Intel Corp. (Santa Clara, Calif.).

"Continuum architecture for cloud gaming" was invented by Makarand Dharmapurikar (Saratoga, Calif.) and Rajabali Koduri (Saratoga, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein is a cloud-based gaming system in which graphics processing operations of a cloud-based game can be performed on a client device. Client-based graphics processing can be enabled in response to a determination that the client includes a graphics processor having a performance that exceeds a minimum threshold."
