"Abandoned object detection" was invented by Charmaine Rui Qin Chan (Tanjung Bungah, Malaysia), Chia Chuan Wu (Butterworth, Malaysia), Marcos E. Carranza (Portland, Ore.), Ignacio Javier Alvarez Martinez (Portland, Ore.), Wei Seng Yeap (Penang, Malaysia) and Tung Lun Loo (Sungai Petani, Malaysia).
