ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,308,484, issued on May 20, was assigned to INFINITY FUEL CELL AND HYDROGEN INC. (Windsor, Conn.) and Ohmium International Inc. (Newark, Calif.).
"Methods of manufacturing a gas diffusion layer and an electrochemical cell incorporating the same" was invented by Arne Ballantine (Incline Village, Nev.), Chockkalingam Karuppaiah (Fremont, Calif.) and William F. Smith (Windsor, Conn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An anode gas diffusion layer for a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer includes a porous stainless steel sheet formed by a powder metallurgical technique."
