ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,277,474, issued on April 15, was assigned to INFINITE PERIPHERALS INC. (Irvine, Calif.).
"Toggling modes of operating a ring scanner based on orientation" was invented by John Broderick (Corona, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A ring scanner is disclosed. The ring scanner is configured to determine an inclination angle of the ring scanner with respect to a ground and based on the inclination angle set an operating mode for the ring scanner, where the operating mode includes either a communication mode or a scanning mode."
