ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,087, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to INDUSTRIAL PROCESS SYSTEMS INC. (Louisville, Ky.).

"Loading lockout system" was invented by Leonard A. Loesch (Naples, Fla.), Sherman Owen (Louisville, Ky.) and Luis J. Tello (Louisville, Ky.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A loading lockout system which takes an image of a vessel, recognizes the receiving opening of the vessel, and prevents the loading of material into the vessel until it determines that the discharge footprint of the material storage device is within the receiving opening of the vessel."

The patent was filed on June 7, 2024, under Application No. 18/736,533.
