ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,350,734, issued on July 8, was assigned to Imerys USA Inc. (Roswell, Ga.).
"Recovering sand, bentonite and organics from foundry sand waste" was invented by Robert C. Steele (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Both a hydraulic (wet) separation process and a dry separation process are used in combination to recover sand, bentonite clay and organics from foundry waste created during operation of a green sand foundry. These recovered ingredients are then recycled for reuse in making additional green sand molds."
The patent was filed on July 19, 2019, under Application No. 17/261,683.
