US Patent Issued to IMAM MOHAMMAD IBN SAUD ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY on Dec. 2 for "Eco-friendly and biocompatible hybrid nanomaterials in sunscreen" (Iraqi, Saudi Arabia Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,485,072, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to IMAM MOHAMMAD IBN SAUD ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).

"Eco-friendly and biocompatible hybrid nanomaterials in sunscreen" was invented by Faisal Khuwayshan L. Algethami (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia), Sameera Shukir Mohammed Ameen (Zakho, Iraq) and Khalid Mohammad Omer (Sulaymaniyah, Iraq).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sunscreen formulation includes carbon quantum dots having reacted units of citric acid and thiamine and particles of a metal-organic framework including zinc and reacted units of terephthalic acid.
