ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,285,729, issued on April 29, was assigned to IMAM MOHAMMAD IBN SAUD ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia).
"Glass supported separation membrane" was invented by Tarek Ahmed Yousef (Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) and Saad Shaaban (Almansourah, Egypt).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polyimide membrane based on a polymer comprising polymerized units of a diselenide compound and having Formula I. A method of fabrication of the membrane using the polyimide-containing polymer and a method for separating one or more gases from a gaseous mixture using the membrane."
The patent was filed on Dec. 18, 2024, under Application No. 18/985,644.
