ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,940, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Illinois Tool Works Inc. (Glenview, Ill.).

"Heat transfer labels with polychromatic effects" was invented by Huanyu Wei (Wilbraham, Mass.), Carlos G. Altamirano (East Hartford, Conn.) and Trinh Truong (Vernon, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polychromatic effects heat transfer label includes a carrier and a polychromatic effects design layer on the carrier.
