ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,318,873, issued on June 3, was assigned to Illinois Tool Works Inc. (Glenview, Ill.).
"Welding systems with a rolling support base having a brake" was invented by Mark Richard Christopher (Neenah, Wis.), Connor Denis Uitenbroek (Appleton, Wis.) and Adam Richard Schmitz (Neenah, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A welding sled, comprising a support base comprising one or more attachment points for attachment of a wire supply support and attachment of a wire drive assembly; a plurality of rollers coupled to a bottom of the support base; and a brake configured to selectively brake the welding sled."
