According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A closure 20 for a pressurized container having a plate with a top side 24 and a bottom side 28, a first notch 22 that extends about a first axis A1 along the top side, and a second notch 26 that extends about the first axis along the bottom side. The first and second notch form a membrane 62 that is capable of being ruptured when a maximum pressure causes the membrane to rupture."
