ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,307,854, issued on May 20, was assigned to IGT (Las Vegas).
"System and method for controlling electronic gaming machine/electronic gaming machine component bezel lighting to indicate different wireless connection statuses" was invented by Erik B. Petersen (Reno, Nev.) and Kevin Higgins (Reno, Nev.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system that utilizes a lighted bezel of a player tracking unit to indicate to a player different wireless connection statuses of a mobile device."
The patent was filed on Dec. 4, 2023, under Application No. 18/528,029.
