ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,387,565, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to IGT (Las Vegas).
"System and method employing virtual tickets" was invented by Kevin Higgins (Reno, Nev.) and Erik Petersen (Reno, Nev.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates generally to a system that utilizes a virtual ticket audit device to account for the transfer of virtual ticket vouchers between different components of a gaming establishment ecosystem."
