ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,412,417, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to IFM ELECTRONIC GMBH (Essen, Germany) and PMD TECHNOLOGIES AG (Siegen, Germany).

"Camera system with interference pattern suppression" was invented by Jan Hinnerk Stosch (Siegen, Germany), Stephan Ulrich (Siegen, Germany) and Oliver Lottner (Netphen, Germany).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A camera system includes a sensor having a plurality of pixels sensitive to electromagnetic radiation; and an evaluator. The sensor is arranged behind a semi-transparent layer. The evaluator is configured to suppress an interference pattern occurring on the sensor by a pixel-by-pixel correction."
