ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,384,882, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to IDEMITSU KOSAN Co. LTD. (Chiyoda-ku, Japan).

"Polyalkylene glycol compound" was invented by So Nakajima (Edogawa-ku, Japan) and Yukio Yoshida (Ichihara, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polyalkylene glycol-based compound of formula (1):may be one in which R1 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 32 carbon atoms, a monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 42 ring carbon atoms, a monovalent acyl group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms, or a monovalent oxygen-containing hydrocarbon group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms; R2 is a monovalent hydrocarbon group having 1 to 32 carbon atoms,...
