ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,438,162, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY (Seoul, South Korea) and KIA Corp. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Separator unit for a fuel cell and a unit cell for a fuel cell including same" was invented by Han Gil Ko (Yongin-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A unit cell for a fuel cell includes an electricity-generating assembly (EGA) in which a gas diffusion layer (GDL) is laminated on each of both sides of a membrane electrode assembly (MEA).
