ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,444,753, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY (Seoul, South Korea) and KIA Corp. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Nanowire catalyst for fuel cell and method of manufacturing same" was invented by Dong Yoon Shin (Yongin-si, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A nanowire catalyst for a fuel cell has a porous structure in which first and second pores having predetermined pore sizes are uniformly dispersed inside and on the surface thereof at a predetermined volume ratio. This enables the efficient exposure of active sites and efficient mass transfer, thereby improving fuel cell performance."
