ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,549,080, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to HYUNDAI MOTOR COMPANY (Seoul, South Korea) and KIA Corp. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Dual rotor motor" was invented by Min Ho Chae (Incheon, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dual rotor motor includes: an inner rotor and an outer rotor disposed one after the other in a radial direction; a stator disposed between the inner rotor and the outer rotor; and a plurality of eccentric cores provided to alter a magnetic path connection state of the stator by rotating around a rotation axis eccentric to a center of the stator."
