ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,731, issued on April 22, was assigned to Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Scrim and method of manufacturing the same" was invented by Ik Keun Choi (Yongin-si, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A scrim including a body portion disposed on an airbag door, the airbag door being configured to open upon a deployment of an airbag, a bent portion disposed on a wall surface of an airbag chute, the airbag chute being formed in a mesh shape, and a hinge portion connecting the body portion and the bent portion, the hinge portion being configured to be partially folded to be seated in the airbag chute."
