ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,475,084, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to HYLAND UK OPERATIONS Ltd. (Maidenhead, Great Britain).

"File tracking on client machines synchronized with a content management system repository" was invented by Harpritt Kalsi (Slough, Great Britain) and Gregory Melahn (Raleigh-Durham, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Using a first unique identifier of a local file on a client machine associated with a second unique identifier of a content item maintained at a content management system repository, synchronization of the local file and the content item can be restored after a synchronization break."
