ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,418,190, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to HYDRO-QUEBEC (Montreal).

"System for cycling battery cells with pressure regulation" was invented by Serge Montambault (Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, Canada), Francois Morin (Carignan, Canada), Etienne Rivard (Boucherville, Canada), Christian Perreault (Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, Canada) and Karim Zaghib (Longueuil, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system for cycling battery cells with pressure regulation is disclosed. The system comprises supports for receiving the battery cells which insert in a clamping arrangement having jaws moving one with respect to the other by an actuator operate...
