ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,228,147, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Hunter Fan Co. (Memphis, Tenn.).

"Quick connect assembly for ceiling fan" was invented by Rickey Thomas Jones (Memphis, Tenn.) and James Caleb McMillen (Hernando, Miss.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A quick connect mounting assembly for a ceiling fan. The quick connect mounting assembly includes two releasably attachable mounts that are easily interconnected to mechanically couple elements of a ceiling fan. The quick connect mounting assembly can be used to mount at least two elements of the ceiling fan, including a ceiling fan switch housing to a ceiling fan motor assembly."
