ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,244, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Hubbell Inc. (Shelton, Conn.).

"Remotely activated portable hand tool" was invented by Michael Paul Rzasa (Manchester, N.H.), Daniel Paul Owens (Brookline, N.H.), Jamshid Kakkattil (Chennai, India) and Rajesh Balan (Alpharetta, Ga.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides hand-held, battery-powered tools for performing operations such as crimping and cutting, and having a remote monitoring and control systems. A frame of the tool supports a working head, a battery, a motor connected to the battery, a controller and a camera."
