ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,249,822, issued on March 11, was assigned to HUBBELL Inc. (Shelton, Conn.).

"Electrical cable hangers" was invented by Evan Ronald Martin (Litchfield, N.H.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hanger for securing electrical cabling to a structure includes a cable holding portion provided at a distal end of the hanger for holding one or more cables to be secured and a hook-like portion provided at a proximal end of the hanger for receiving and securing the hanger to the structure, the hook-like portion having a first width dimensioned for receiving a portion of the structure and an opening having a width smaller than the first width."
