ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,388,122, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Honda Motor Co. Ltd. (Tokyo).

"Solid-state battery module" was invented by Takuya Taniuchi (Saitama, Japan) and Masahiro Ohta (Saitama, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a battery module having a high energy density and exhibiting suppressed electrode displacement or peeling during vibration. In the present invention, a residual space in a battery cell, which is necessary for the lithium ion secondary batteries employing the liquid electrolyte is eliminated, and additionally a module component is disposed in a portion that would provide the residual space."
